Volunteer with Chicago Climate Connect

We are looking for volunteers to help us sustainably scale Chicago Climate Connect’s community of over 2,000 climate-minded Chicagoans across policy, business, tech, education, and grassroots movements.

You can help to build critical mass and momentum around climate action in Chicago by making climate spaces more accessible, collaborative, and connected. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your climate journey, we have a place for you to make a real impact.

We know everyone has different schedules, availability, and resources. So, we’ve designed two ways to get involved:

• Event Volunteers: Perfect for those who want to help out when they can. We ask for a flexible commitment to support at least 3 events over a 12-month period.
• Auxiliary Board Members: For those ready to dive deep! These roles involve ongoing responsibilities with a 6–12 month commitment and roughly 3–4 hours of work per month.

Door Greeters & Crowd Engagement

You’re the first friendly face people see! You’ll welcome attendees, hand out name tags, and help everyone feel at home while assisting with setup and/or teardown.

Photography & Media

Heloing out our Content Coordinator on a per-event basis. You’ll capture the best moments and help us share the C3 experience with the world.

Communications Coordinator
Shape the voice of Chicago Climate Connect. You’ll create and schedule social media magic, chat with our community online, and help draft our newsletters and website content.

Qualifications: You have strong writing skills, know your way around social media platforms, and understand how to build community.

Event Programming Coordinator
Make our events awesome(er). You’ll research speakers and topics that get people excited about gathering. You’ll also help fine organizations to host our events, coordinate logistics with our hosts and panelists, and help out with mics and Q&A at events.

Qualifications: You have a mind for planning, great communication skills, and connections within the Chicago climate ecosystem. Event planning experience is a big plus.

Fundraising Coordinator
Help us to expand what’s possible. You’ll identify sponsors to fund our programming and vendors to contribute materials, ensuring everyone is properly thanked for their support.

Qualifications: You have some fundraising experience, excellent communication skills, and a sharp eye for detail and deadlines.

Finance Coordinator
Keep us on track, financially. You’ll track event expenses, support basic bookkeeping, and handle invoices and receipts for our amazing partners and donors.

Qualifications: You’re comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets and have a high attention to detail. Basic accounting knowledge is preferred.

Content Production Coordinator
You capture the magic at our events. You’ll arrive early to plan key shots and spend the event taking candid photos and video clips of panels and networking moments.

Qualifications: You have a keen eye for visual storytelling and the equipment and ability to share high-quality files quickly after events.
